The infrastructure of the premises intended for cryotherapy. The procedure involved in carrying out systemic cryotherapy treatment requires the patients to perform physical exercises (kinesitherapy) in the cryochamber after the treatment This on the other hand requires an appropriately equipped area for exercising as well as a social infrastructure (sanitary facilities, cloakroom, bathrooms etc.) The Cryochamber proposed by CREATOR may handle about 50-60 patients per hour, and 300 patients per session. These numbers require a total area of 200m2 (the project may be customized to the requirements of the individual investor).

  • The 20m2 and 300cm high premises where  the cryochamber is situated is a waiting area for the patients.
  • It is directly connected with the 4m2 technical utility room and doctor’s room, and preferably adjoins the cryotherapy chamber and set against an external wall (the nitrogen tank which is outside the building should be located as close to the technical utility room as possible; the premises to be connected to an electric power source.
  • A medical room of an area over 6m2.
  • A 50m2 hall for kinesotherapeutic exercises.
  • Cloakrooms with sanitary facilities.

The premises should be in compliance with the requirements of health care centres.


The treatment cycle in the cryochamber is steered by electronic circuits programmed by the physiotherapist with aid of a touch panel. The desired temperature is reached and maintained by using the heat exchangers installed in the pre-chamber and cryochamber. The temperature is measured at a height of 40cm above the floor. The appropriate lay-out and construction of the heat exchangers ensure an appropriate temperature distribution in the whole cryochamber, which in turn guarantees successful treatment.
A special system of devices prepares the breathing air, this preparation enables the purest and driest air to be entered into the cryochamber. The air is at -100oC to -120oC in an amount allowing its several exchanges per hour. This system is coordinated with a suction unit extracting the formed fog. The cooperation of these two systems secures comfort during the treatment, as it reduces the feeling of cold, keeps visibility in the treatment chamber and neutralizes the influence of outside air entering the cryochamber when patients enter and exit the chamber.
The steering system is located in two small cabinets. The Mitsubishi Electric Co. electronic circuit watches over the correct functioning of the cryochamber. This circuit ensures automatic steering of all the components of the cryochamber, it allows for the setting of the temperature and time of the treatment. It monitors the level of oxygen in the cryochamber and in the premises in front of the engine room and signalizes any abnormalities in the functioning of the cryochamber. In extreme cases of endangering the patient or the staff e.g. during the fall of oxygen level below 17% or a failure of the temperature measurement device, the circuit switches off the cryochamber and cuts off the cooling agent supply at the tank. 
The inside of the chamber is safe for the patient. The walls are covered with wooden paneling made of linden. The chamber contains a camera to monitor the course of the whole treatment.

The doors of the treatment chamber and pre-chamber have windows fitted, to enable eye contact with the patient, which in effect reduces stress cause by staying in extreme conditions.
The construction of the door locks is an important element of safety, as the doors can be opened by body pressure on the door, without having to use the door knob in a situation when the patient needs to leave the chamber immediately. The patient may also signalize the need to leave the chamber by pushing the alarm button, which is inside the chamber. A sound and light alarm informs the physiotherapist to stop the treatment immediately while the electronic steering circuit automatically cuts off the supply of the cooling agent in all circuits.
